Just Your Fool
"Just Your Fool" is a song by Chicago blues musician Little Walter released in 1962 as Checker 1013.[1] In 2010, Cyndi Lauper released the song as the lead single from her album Memphis Blues, which features Charlie Musselwhite.[3][4] Lauper performed the song with Musselwhite on Celebrity Apprentice.[5]
Little Walter version
The song "Just Your Fool" was recorded at Chess Studios (most likely) in December 1960, and backing Walter (vocals/harp) were Fred Robinson & Luther Tucker (guitars), Fred Below (drums), and either Willie Dixon or Jimmie Lee Robinson (bass).[2] The song was released as a single in 1962 but did not chart, most likely because of Walter declining health.
Cyndi Lauper version
In 2009 Cyndi Lauper announced that she was making a blues album. That album was Memphis Blues and "Just Your Fool" was on that album and was released as a single.
